It looks we've come to a compromise on RFA changes, that compromise being:
RFA will be public bidding (like UFA), so no more blind bidding to the proboards RFA account
RFA will still (initially) be separate, starting 4 days before UFA so that the bids on RFA have a head-start over the rest of the FA pool
Once an RFA bid stands for 24 hours, the RFA owner will have 48 hours to decide if they'd like to match or decline the winning bid
If an RFA doesn't receive any bids for a full week, the RFA owner can either sign their player to a 1 year deal at the Qualifying Offer (QO) price or rescind the QO and let the player become a UFA
All that is left to decide is whether these changes will be implemented this season or not. Please vote on your preference in the poll above:
* Option 1 / NO CHANGE: No Changes Until Next Offseason
we will have the same RFA process as previous years, where everyone sends their blind bids to the RFA account & all RFA contracts are decided before UFA
the new RFA rules will be fully changed for next offseason
* Option 2 / FULL CHANGE: New Rules Implemented Now
